Sarah and George are a true success story of the FCSA Tandem Young Coach Education. In 2014 they formed a so called \u201cTandem\u201d \u2013 a team that supports and guides each other throughout the education. Since then, every Friday evening, they team up again for training a group of the Old Boys Basel Dream Team.<\/p>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n\n\n\n

Sarah (Tandem Partner)<\/strong>: Somebody once told me about the Dream Team. Then I went along and was immediately able to join in. Although, I do not have a disability it has become routine for me to play with them every Friday. And then last year the club offered me the chance to participate in the Tandem Young Coach-Education.<\/p>\n

George (Young Coach)<\/strong>: I actually can\u2019t remember how I got involved with the Dream Team. I have been playing here for a long time. In 2013, Mica and Benni did the education. I watched them a little bit and started to be interested. Somehow I wanted to be a coach.<\/p>\n

Sarah<\/strong>: I never thought about being a coach before. But when I got asked to become a coach, I thought: Go for it.<\/p>\n

George<\/strong>: In my opinion the coolest part of the education was preparing everything, the trainings and so on. The most difficult thing was to read my own handwriting. (smiles)<\/p>\n

Sarah<\/strong>: Out of the whole education, I liked the Camp the most. This is where I was able to implement everything that I had learned for the kids with different abilities. That was pretty cool.<\/p>\n

George<\/strong>: In the beginning it was really hard for me to stand in front of a group and speak up. But now, I am used to it.<\/p>\n

Sarah<\/strong>: At first it took me a while to feel comfortable acting like a coach. In general, to stand in front of a group and explain something. But as I continued, I became better and better. In those situations it was good to be in pairs. There is somebody by your side and you help each other. Everybody is individual, thus everybody does things in his own way.<\/p>\n

George<\/strong>: I would recommend this education to other youths, but it depends on whom. It\u2019s not good to recommend it to just anybody. It is important that the person loves football and likes kids and youths.<\/p>\n

Sarah<\/strong>: Well, I would recommend it to everybody to participate in the education as a Tandem Partner, because it is a great experience. Plus, it is fun and you learn a lot.<\/p>\n<\/div> <\/div>\n
