Luke & Eva – Tandem 2024 | Scort Foundation

Luke and Eva know each other from handball and share a desire to promote inclusion within their sport. During the Tandem Young Coach-Education, they discovered that they form a great coaching team, and complement each other perfectly.

Our Story

Luke (Young Coach): We are Luke and Eva from Bayer 04 Leverkusen.

Eva (Tandem Partner): That’s right, we’re actually both from handball. I’m an assistant coach of a kid’s team and Luke often helps out with the women’s handball team ‘Bergische Panther’.

Luke: I am here because I want to become a coach in handball together with Eva.

Eva: Our aim is to take inclusive sports beyond football, for example in handball. And since Luke and I are both so passionate about handball, we’re a good match.

Luke: I really enjoy being a coach with Eva and I can learn a lot from her. For example, how to set everything up and then explain it nicely.

Eva: The main thing I can learn from Luke is to speak much more openly with others and to be more confident in conversations. Luke is pretty good at that. In general, I’ve been able to learn an incredible amount at this education programme from the instructors and the other participants, especially because I don’t have that much experience in the field of inclusion yet.

Luke: I really enjoy this education programme. I was a bit nervous, but I can manage it all. I can also talk to everyone very well and we help each other.

Eva: It would be cool if Luke and I could offer an inclusive handball training at Luke’s former special school. We’ll definitely talk about that.
